CHUCK A. DAVIS III
Senior Pastor
|
Chuck is an experienced pastor, teacher,
and missionary. He grew up in the suburbs
of Cleveland, Ohio, in a Christian family in
which both grandfathers were pastors. Chuck sensed God’s call on his life throughout his
youth, and his family remembers that even as
a young child Chuck would frequently announce that he was called to preach. He graduated
from Nyack College with a B.A. degree in Bible, and subsequently earned Masters of Divinity
and Masters of Intercultural Studies degrees
from Alliance Theological Seminary. He is also
a candidate for a Ph.D. degree in the Sociology
of Religion at Fordham University, and expects
to complete his dissertation by May 2008.
Chuck served as Senior Pastor of Alliance Church in Clark, New Jersey, for five years.
He led an active global missions program in
the church, and took a group to West Africa to
build a Bible School. From this experience he began to see himself as a potential cross-
cultural missionary, and in 1990 he and his
family moved to Mali, Africa, to work as a missionary under the auspices of the Christian
& Missionary Alliance. Chuck and his wife
Ingrid spent 18 months learning the French
and Bambara languages, and then worked
in a team setting to plant churches and train leaders. During the last four years of his
10-year missionary service, Chuck served as
a Field Director, supervising 40 missionaries
and serving as a liaison with the National
Church.
After returning from Mali, Chuck worked as Professor of Intercultural Studies at Alliance Theological Seminary for seven years. In November 2006 he was affirmed by the Stanwich congregation to succeed Rev. Neely Towe as Senior Pastor upon her retirement at the end of January, 2007.
Chuck’s wife Ingrid is a gifted teacher, counselor, mentor, and public speaker. She
has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
from Nyack College and a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Studies from Alliance Theological Seminary. Her counseling experience includes helping people recovering from emotional disturbances and addictive behavior. She also mentors women and couples and provides coaching in how to attain important life goals.
Chuck and Ingrid have three children.
