Lee was born in Atlanta and spent most of his early childhood and adolescence in Columbia, South Carolina. He was active in Young Life during high school and at the University of South Carolina where, as a freshman, he became the youngest team leader in a leadership program of over 40 students and adult volunteers. Between volunteering with Young Life and classes, he also refereed soccer, worked part- time and ran the middle school program at his parents’ church. Lee’s connection to the Northeast began after he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1995 and moved to Boston to work for Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting.
While climbing the corporate ladder, Lee found that the kids in his middle school program at Park Street Church in Boston captivated his attention more often than his real job. After exploring other full-time ministry options and seminaries, he enrolled in the Masters of Divinity program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. While in seminary Lee worked part-time for a small consulting firm, and continued to volunteer at Park Street Church where he eventually accepted a part-time position as youth director. After finishing seminary with a Masters of Divinity in 2002, Lee accepted a position as director of WyldLife in Greenwich where he worked for six years.
In his free time Lee is a coach at Brunswick School helping out with the middle school soccer, wrestling, basketball and baseball programs as well as the high school JV baseball team. He is also an avid amateur photographer, occasional book reader, and fervent Boston Red Sox & New England Patriots fan. |
