HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Please check the high school calendar for upcoming special events for students
in grades 9-12. For more information about our youth programs, please contact
Lee Fletcher, Director of Youth Ministries.
Alethia
Alethia (named for the Greek word "truth") is our high school fellowship group which combines food and fellowship with teaching and small group study. Alethia meets on Tuesday evenings during the school year. The goal of Alethia is to provide a safe place for students to ask questions and discuss issues that are relevant to teens today, and to create a space where students will feel inspired to cultivate a life-long relationship with God.
Spring Break Mission Trip
Students have an opportunity each spring to serve on a mission trip. Last year
they travelled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to work at a day-care facility for underprivileged children. They fixed up the school, planted hundreds of flowers
in a new garden, and spent time with the young children who attend the school.
Please check the upcoming mission trips page for details about the next trip
for high school students.
Young Life
Many Stanwich students participate in weekly "Club" meetings hosted by
Young Life, a non-denominational Christian organization that Stanwich supports. Young Life also organizes special events for students throughout the school year,
and camps in the winter and summer. For more information, please visit the
websites for Young Life in Greenwich or Stamford, or check the national
website at www.younglife.org to find a Young Life in your area.
FOCUS
FOCUS, the Fellowship Of Christians in Universities and Schools, is another
Christian organization that Stanwich supports which offers a non-denominational ministry to students in high school and college. FOCUS meets weekly during the school year, and hosts a variety of summer camping opportunities at their property
on Martha’s Vineyard. For more information, visit the FOCUS website at www.infocus.org.
