ELECTED OFFICERS

Deacons

The diaconate consists of nine members, three of whom are elected at each annual meeting for three year terms.  Deacons constitute the lay leaders of the church, and assist the pastor in the spiritual nurture of the congregation. 

 

Trustees

The board of trustees consists of nine members, three of whom are elected at each annual meeting for three year terms.  Trustees are responsible for the conduct of the business and financial management of the church and cemetery. 

 

Moderator

The moderator presides over the business meetings of the congregation.

 

Clerk

The clerk issues the call to the annual meeting and to other business meetings of the church, and keeps the record of these meetings.  The Clerk also keeps the roll of the regular and associate members of the church with their addresses, and record of all baptisms, marriages and deaths as reported by the pastor. 

 

Treasurer

The treasurer, with the guidance and approval of the trustees, has responsibility for the custody and disbursement of church funds.  The treasurer provides a complete financial statement at each annual meeting, and monthly as required by the trustees. 

Historian

The historian collects and maintains pictures and documents dealing with the history of the church, and keeps record of important events in the current life of the church. 

 

Internal Auditors

The church elects two internal auditors to audit the accounts of the church and cemetery, and of any other organization that has money or raises money in the name of the church. 

 

Membership Chair

The membership chair works with the pastor and the deacons, and others the chair may choose, to strengthen the fellowship of the church and to interest others in it. 

 

Nominating Committee

The nominating committee consists of two members who are elected at the annual meeting, in addition to two deacons and two trustees.  The nominating committee nominates members for elected offices and heads of ministries on an annual

basis, and notifies the congregation two Sundays preceding the annual meeting.
