MUSIC
Music and singing are beautiful ways to express the joy that fills our hearts from the love of our Lord. From traditional hymns that have been sung for hundreds of years to modern music and new songs, Stanwich offers a variety of music styles that all seek to glorify God, celebrate His goodness and beauty, and bring us closer to Him. Members with musical gifts are invited to share them at Stanwich by joining one of our music ministries.
Adult Choir
If you love to sing praises to our Lord, what better way than to join the Stanwich Church Choir! The adult choir is a group of volunteer singers who provide music
for Sunday morning worship throughout the year except during the summer. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. before the service. The choir welcomes everyone with a desire to sing and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow music-makers.
Junior Choir
Children in grades 1 through 5 are welcome to join the junior choir, which performs during morning worship services periodically throughout the school year.
Musicians
Music at morning services is coordinated by organist and choir director Randall Atcheson. The praise team plays guitar and leads the congregation in a praise song after the first hymn. A string quartet and other instrumentalists perform
during holiday services and periodically throughout the year.
Music at the Evensong service is coordinated by Rev. Chris Sorensen, and
includes vocalists and musicians playing contemporary music on a wide variety
of instruments. Read more about Evensong music.
