NATIONAL MISSIONS

West Virginia

For several years Stanwich has sent a group of youth and adults to Philippi, West Virginia, to partner with World Vision and its Vision Appalachia Ministry Partners.  The group assists on a wide range of physical improvement projects, including repairing and refurbishing churches, community centers, schools and individual homes.  The

group also participates in a vacation Bible school for children.

Florida

Stanwich sent a group of volunteers to the west coast of Florida to repair damage to homes from the devastating hurricanes of 2004.  One trip was conducted in October and another in May 2005.

Louisiana

Stanwich sent a group of volunteers to New Orleans in December 2005

to repair damage from hurricane Katrina.  The group worked in partnership with Desire Street, an urban ministry based in New Orleans, to clean out

a large facility that had functioned as a church and school for inner city youth.
