SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS
Guest speaker Ruth Sherman, renowned author, communications teacher and trainer, presented two workshops on "Marketing and Promoting Oneself with Confidence" on January 19 and February 2.
In March VNS hosted David Ruppen, a Swiss mountaineer who has summitted many peaks including Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in South America, and Cho Oyu, the 26,900 foot tall peak located 20 miles west of Mount Everest. He is currently preparing to be part of the Swiss-led Mount Everest (29,000 feet) expedition scheduled for Spring 2011. David shared his high mountain climbing experience and vocation,
and presented photos/slides of his expeditions.
Vocational Next Steps provides help and counsel for people who are at a transition point in their lives. The group usually meets on the third Tuesday of every month. Each meeting includes a guest speaker and small group discussion, moderated by the VNS team: Ernst Schirmer, Heather Knapp, Peter Jayes and Shalaine McLaughlin.
